The edentulous maxilla is often associated with the highest complication risk. This lecture will identify the current challenges in diagnosis and treatment planning for the edentulous maxilla, and review the ideal number of implants and their positioning for both fixed and removable prosthetic options that will maximize the success rate. Different prosthetic options will be shown with varying restorative materials. Advantages and disadvantages of each will be discussed to help the clinician select the most appropriate option for their patients.
